Anonymous, It certainly is an American Elm. I have personally visited this tree on multiple occasions. If you are looking for the characteristic deep furrows of an American Elm you will not find them on this tree due to it's age. This is a young tree and has been planted recently. You can also see a bit of damage to the bark on the front of this specific tree.
