The Nature Conservancy is celebrating the second year of Green Gift Monday, which coincides with Cyber Monday, November 28th, the biggest online shopping day of the year. We'd love for you to join us in raising awareness by promoting green, responsible giving options for the holidays – like purchasing energy efficient products, creating a do-it-yourself project, or donating to a charity in a gift recipient’s honor. Last year's Green Gift Monday was a huge success, with 65+ partners showcasing their support. The campaign included coverage from Mashable and Treehugger just to name a few.

You can also check out The Nature Conservancy's Green Gift Guide to find wonderful, responsible gifts of nature, like Adopt an Acre of Rainforest or a Coral Reef, that holiday shoppers can purchase without having to fight traffic at the mall. You can even send an e-card to announce your gift and reduce holiday wrapping trash. Here's how you can help:

1. Write a blog post in support of the day and include a link back to our hub page (the sooner the better, we're showcasing blog posts now through the holiday season) http://blog.nature.org/green-gift-monday/
2. Ask your readers to sign the pledge to give green this holiday season.
3. Let us know when your post is live.

The Nature Conservancy is holding its 6th Annual Digital Photo Competition. This year, it's easier than ever to enter using your Facebook log-in info - http://photocontest.nature.org/ or through The Nature Conservancy's Flickr Group - http://my.nature.org/photography/flickr.html.

Original digital photos that feature the natural wonders of the lands, waters, plants, animals and people around the world are all eligible for the competition.

This year at least 35 photos will be selected as honorable mentions and finalists, and our online community will vote for their favorite images to determine the winners. The grand prize winner will be featured on the cover of the 2013 Nature Conservancy calendar.

This competition is open to all photographers age 18 years or older regardless of residence or citizenship, as long as the laws of their jurisdiction allow participation. Photo submissions must be uploaded by 11:59 pm PST Monday, September 12, 2011.
